Winning Hairdresser of the Year, Unique Colour Specialist of the Year and Creative Cutting Technician of the Year.
Published:The Newcastle upon Tyne-based hairdresser’s three wins recognise his work across creative cutting, unconventional colour and curly hair.
Established in 2022, the North East Hair & Beauty Awards recognise professionals working across hair, beauty, makeup and aesthetics in the region. The awards celebrate emerging talent, independent businesses and established professionals, with a focus on creativity, dedication and entrepreneurship.
OSMO Ambassador Jude Taylor began his hairdressing career in 2019, starting his apprenticeship shortly before the pandemic. He qualified with a Level 3 diploma in 2023 and has since developed a reputation for alternative and creative hairdressing, combining bold colour transformations with distinctive cutting techniques.
Speaking about the three awards, Taylor said: “I’m still shocked at taking home three award wins. Each category reflects a different part of hairdressing that I genuinely love, from pushing colour boundaries to creating strong, individual shapes through cutting.”
He added that having his work recognised within the North East hair and beauty community meant a great deal to him, and thanked the clients, brands and creative teams who had supported his work.
As an OSMO Brand Ambassador, Taylor shares his technical knowledge and approach to creative hairdressing with the wider OSMO community. His work includes the OSMO Curl Revival range, OSMO Planet Vivid creative colour and OSMO IKON professional colour, lightening and care products.
Alongside his salon work, Taylor presents on stage and has showcased his skills at industry events including HairCon. He also uses social media to share his work and connect with clients and other hair professionals.
