The family-run, London salon group is marking a major business milestone.
Published:Founded by Hari Salem in 1976 on Sydney Street in Chelsea, the brand has grown into a five-salon group and one of the capital’s most recognised names in hairdressing, known for its focus on craftsmanship, client care and timeless style.
Over the last five decades, Hari’s Salon has worked with a host of high-profile names including Bianca Jagger, The Rolling Stones, Twiggy and Sienna Miller, while continuing to evolve its services for both loyal and new-generation clients.
Now entering its next chapter, the business is being led by Hari Salem’s children, Lucan Salem and Tassie Salem, who are focused on developing the next generation of salon talent while continuing the brand’s long-standing commitment to education and mentorship.
To commemorate the milestone, HARI’s has unveiled a series of activations and collaborations taking place throughout the year across its salon group.
Celebrations begin during the week of 18 May with the launch of the Birthday Blow-dry Edit in partnership with Sebastian Professional. Created alongside Sebastian Professional educator and ambassador Guy Kleinhaus, the collection revisits iconic hair trends from across the decades, including ‘70s Studio Wave, ‘80s Icon Curls, ‘90s Supermodel Volume, ‘00s Lived-in Wave and ‘10s Modern Boho.
Salons will also feature nostalgic playlists and decade-inspired visuals, with clients receiving Sebastian Professional and OPI goody bags throughout the activation.
From 9–12 June, the group will partner with Burnt Fen Flowers and Kérastase for Peonies in Bloom, a floral installation concept celebrating seasonal beauty and client loyalty.
Across all HARI’s salons, peony displays and floristry stations created in partnership with L’Oréal Professionnel will transform the spaces, while clients will receive bouquets and curated Kérastase goody bags. The King’s Road salon will also host a dedicated flower cart with bouquets prepared on-site by a florist from Burnt Fen Flowers.

Reflecting on the anniversary, Hari Salem said:
“50 years is an important milestone, but what excites me is that it doesn’t feel like the end, there’s so much more for us to do, especially as my son and daughter have taken over the business. When you put your heart into something, it just proves it can stand the test of time.”
Lucan Salem added:
“At HARI’s, our mission is to redefine excellence in hairdressing; combining world-class craft with warmth, creativity, and genuine care, so every client leaves feeling confident, valued and inspired. We continue to invest in people and products, ensuring the standards set by my father in 1976 remain unmatched today.”
The celebrations continue on 21 July, when clients will be offered blow-dries priced at £19.76 in tribute to the year the business was founded.
