Designed to help Colourists remove residual lightener before toning.
Published:OSMO IKON has introduced Bleach Seeker Shampoo, a new professional cleanser designed to help colourists remove residual lightener before toning, using smart colour-change technology to indicate when bleach remains in the hair.
The shampoo’s formula changes from yellow to pink when it detects the high pH of residual bleach or permanent colour, helping stylists identify when further cleansing is needed. Once all traces have been removed, the shampoo remains yellow, signalling the hair is ready for toning.
Designed to reduce the risk of uneven colour results, OSMO IKON Bleach Seeker aims to create a cleaner canvas for more consistent blonde services.
OSMO Technical Educator Terry Longden explains: “Even the smallest, often invisible, particles of bleach left in the hair can affect the final toning result. The colour indicator reacts to the high pH of bleach or permanent colour, turning the foam pink until all residue has been removed. Once the pH has lowered, the shampoo produces yellow foam, letting you know the hair is ready.”
Longden recommends using Bleach Seeker as the first stage of the cleansing process following a lightening service before continuing with the OSMO IKON Chromaplex range.
“I use Bleach Seeker until the pink disappears, then follow with the OSMO IKON Chromaplex Shampoo, Sealer and Conditioner to help protect freshly lightened hair and create a clean, balanced canvas for even toning.”
He also uses the shampoo following permanent colour services, particularly darker shades.
“The powerful cleansing agents help remove colour residue, while the colour indicator gives me confidence that all product has been removed before I move on to the appropriate shampoo and conditioner for the client’s hair type.”
Bleach Seeker Shampoo is available now, priced at £15.80 + VAT.
