The SB Awards Winners’ Day delivered energy, innovation, and a genuine sense of community, marking it as a welcome addition to the SB Awards competition.

“It’s one of the best things I have seen in a long time. This really makes entering competitions worthwhile. Having Dom [Lehane] there was a genius idea. To create a buzz and celebration with something that pulls everyone together was great,” says Oliver Blackaby, SB Awards Design Salon Gold winner 2026.

From the moment attendees arrived at Grid Studios in London, there was a clear buzz in the room. Winners, finalists, and industry leaders came together not just to celebrate achievements, but to connect, share ideas, and create content together.

The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between celebration and opportunity, as SB Awards Founder Jo Charlton said: “It felt like we were hosting a family get together, where everyone left felling a little lighter, with a lot more knowledge, and a content calendar full of ideas!”

LWPR and Stellar Represents shared insights into how to show up on social media, with ideas to get the most out of their SB Awards win such as hosting events, including it as part of marketing and stressing the importance of your Instagram bio.

Meanwhile photographer Danny Mendoza-Hall talked an eager audience through the importance of lighting and how to get it right both in and out of the salon.

There were various stations around the room where Danny was taking headshots, Podcaster Dom Lehane was asking questions to be answered on-camera and there was a dedicated selfie area for those creating their own content. Power banks were also on-hand for every attendee, sponsored by Phorest, to keep everyone connected throughout.

Adding further value to the day, Philip Kingsley brought their expertise directly to the floor, offering scalp analysis sessions to guests. This interactive experience was consistently busy, giving attendees the chance to gain personalised insights while seeing the product first hand with many placing their first order to offer it in their own salon.

“What made this year’s Winners’ Day particularly special was the sense of togetherness,” adds Jo. “In an industry that continues to evolve rapidly, with some of the busiest people I know, it was great to see so many turn up not just for themselves, but for each other.”

As the day drew to a close, one thing was clear: the SB Awards Winners’ Day wasn’t just a success, it was a standout moment for the industry calendar.
