This year, it’s all about rich, dimensional shades that feel glossy, healthy and completely bespoke.
Published:Autumn is one of my favourite times of year for colour. As the seasons change, I always encourage my clients to refresh their look, it’s the perfect moment to add warmth, depth and shine. This year, it’s all about rich, dimensional shades that feel glossy, healthy and completely bespoke. Here are the three hair colour trends I’m most excited about for the season ahead:
Copper is always a go-to for autumn, but this year it feels even more luxurious. I love creating a molten copper effect by blending rich russet tones with subtle golden highlights that give the colour incredible light reflection and movement.
What makes copper so special is that it can be tailored to suit every skin tone, such as brighter, fiery hues for those who love a bold statement, or deeper, burnished shades for something softer. It’s a colour that instantly transforms the hair, giving it vibrancy and life
For my blonde clients, autumn is a great time to soften and add dimension. Toasted Blonde is a gorgeous mix of buttery golden highlights and deeper, smoky lowlights. The contrast adds depth and shadow, which not only makes the blonde look brighter but also helps the hair look thicker and shinier.
I particularly love adding slightly lighter ribbons around the face to frame and lift the complexion, while keeping the overall finish warm and autumnal. It’s the perfect way to transition from summer’s icy blondes into something more refined and sophisticated for the new season.
Chestnut Luxe is a deep, multi-dimensional brown with warm, golden undertones and a glossy, polished finish. It’s the kind of shade that instantly adds sophistication and works beautifully on all hair types.
What makes this trend so special is the shine; the hair looks radiant and healthy, with light-catching reflections that bring the colour to life. I often layer subtle caramel or toffee highlights through the lengths to add movement and depth, giving the brown a modern, luxurious edge.
Chestnut Luxe is perfect for anyone looking for a low-maintenance yet striking update this season. It’s rich, wearable, and stylish.

The Band colour technique is more than a panel of colour.
Published:Whether it’s an Alice Band effect created by Marlon Hawkins, or the Invisible Line created by Charlie Illi, this simple technique will elevate your colour services this AW25.
“The technique uses a combination of foil and freehand application methods to create strong bands of colour, like hair accessories you don’t need to remove. This is one of my favourite colour creations, it’s technically demanding, but that’s exactly what I love about it!”.
– Charlie
Here she shares how she used this new statement colour technique to add even more drama to this one-length Roxy bob.
My Inspiration
It came from how hair is a permanent accessory that you wear every day, and how it can bring the uniqueness out in every person. I love following the various Fashion Weeks and started seeing these huge, colourful Alice bands in several shows. This sparked my curiosity as to how I could recreate these accessories with colour.
Why I love It
I love its uniqueness. You can place colour in so many ways – it’s the person in your chair that makes it. And my model really helped bring this to life with her doll-like features.
Creating The Perfect Shade
I wanted to create a terracotta shade by mixing mahogany, violet, orange and yellow on a undercoat of 8, which was the perfect level to support my colour choices. If you want to create more delicate, pastel shades, I’d recommend lifting and pre-toning the hair before applying colour.
My Top Tips
My top tip for creating this look is to always start with a strong cut as this will form the foundations of your look. This was achieved with back-to-back slices to get the perfect lift. Also, make sure you don’t apply the pre-lightener all the way through to the ends as this will create a panel rather than the desired Alice Band effect.
STEP 1: Cut First
Start with the haircut to map out the lines. The secret of creating this one-length Roxy bob is to exaggerate the weight at the occipital bone with a short fade into the neck.
STEP 2: Sectioning For Colour
Divide the hair into four clean sections using a cross-bun technique, working one section at a time, keeping the partings parallel to the head shape for control.
STEP 3: Painting The Line
Lay the first 5mm section on foil and secure with masking tape, mapping the thickness of the colour line. Pre-lighten the section with L’Oréal Professionnel Pre-lightener (9 levels and 20 vol), then tape over it to prevent bleeding.
STEP 4: Layering Up
Lay the next section on top with a natural fall, avoiding over-direction and tension, then carefully freehand paint the line again. Repeat this process section by section to the top.
STEP 5: Finishing Touches
After processing, leave the colour raw for maximum vibrancy. Wrap-dry the hair, then add a soft bend at the horseshoe hairline by lifting sections and blow-drying into a curve by hand.

This season’s highly anticipated collection celebrates duality, inspired by the twin personalities of Gemini.
Published:“The inspiration was 70’s, as a designer Helen Anthony loves to reference that era and for this show he told me his theme was Gemini so I suggested creating dual personalities with the hair looks too. Like the Gemini sign, one twin is the impulsive twin that we styled with big, voluminous hair and the other twin is the curious twin with a cool girl mullet and curls. With the huge hair looks, we split into 4 characters – The Debbie after Debbie Harry, The Dolly after Dolly Parton, The Amy after Amy Winehouse and The Pammie after Pamela Anderson. For the cool hair look my inspiration was Nadia Lee Cohen, a British artist, film producer and character that’s super cool. This look is about creating shapes at the front of the hair, almost an anti-look to what the hair wanted to do, so the curls coming forward rather than back,”
– Lead Hair Stylist Johanna Cree Brown shares.
Blending nature’s beauty with the ingenuity of human craftsmanship, the collection reflects Helen Anthony’s core values of craftsmanship, innovation, and diversity, while embracing contrasts and creative freedom.
Twin 1 – The Big Hair Look
• Texture Spray
• Volumising Powder
• Flexible Hairspray
• Glaze It Up
Twin 2 – The Mullets & Short Hair
• Treat and Tame
• Texture Spray
From voluminous, statement looks to effortlessly cool curls, the hair elevated the collection’s narrative of duality, ensuring a striking presence on the runway.

Authentic Beauty Concept partnered with Global Creative Advocate Anna Cofone to craft innovative, high-fashion hair.
Published:SS Daley presented a combined womenswear and menswear show. The designer drew inspiration from female British artists in the early period of the 20th century. Think: British classics, reworked through hand drawn prints, felted textures and voluminous silhouettes.
“In line with Stephen’s vision, we explored the interplay of masculinity and femininity in both the men’s and women’s hairstyles. The looks feature beautifully crafted shapes that emphasise movement and volume – textural, ethereal yet controlled. For the women’s styles, we created structured shapes with rich texture, embodying both fragility and strength. Hair is swept back off the face for a contained, powerful look, while more feminine variations introduce ethereal moments by teasing out the hair. We used Authentic Beauty Concept’s Airy Texture Spray to enhance volume and Authentic Beauty Concept’s Glow Spray Serum to achieve a polished, controlled finish. For the men’s looks, we aimed for a lived-in feel, as if artists were coming together after a night out. There’s a sense of individuality in the hair, yet a cohesive and uniformed aesthetic, tied together by texture, control and a pushed back style. Ethereal moments are introduced through subtle variations in movement, maintaining a balance between structure and effortlessness,” – Anna Cofone, Global Creative Advocate for Authentic Beauty Concept.
1. Hair is prepped with Nymph Salt Spray at the roots for volume and structure and Glow Spray Serum is used through mid-lengths and ends for heat protection. Blow-dry in using vent brush, especially on the sides. Depending on texture use Amplify Mousse or Cosmic Blowdry Jelly for type 1 or 2 if very heavy.
2. Hair is kept back using Pliable Styling Paste and styled by taking set sections sprayed with a fine mist of Working Hairspray then:
– At the top, take small section and use small tongs, working away from the face to create indent in the hair
– On the sides, use a triple barrel waver in a vertical direction to create movement at the sides
– At the back, also add abstract waved section to create texture and defined movement
3. To finish, brush the hair out and use Airy Texture Spray to create soft moments and Glow Spray Serum to tame any fly-aways. Set with Working Hairspray.
