Scrummi launched in 2010, and they’ve been pioneering the “laundry-free” movement ever since.
Published:Scrummi’s mission is simple: liberate the planet from laundry.
Today Scrummi is used by 5000+ businesses across 16 countries. Last year alone salons using Scrummi saved over 60 million litres of chemically contaminated water and 3.5 million kilograms of CO2. Around 70% of Scrummi products are produced locally to ensure supply chain transparency and local employment. All products contain FSC certified materials and Scrummi products are certified compostable.
“From day one, we knew we had to go beyond the product itself and pour our efforts into sustainability. What use is a biodegradable towel if it’s made in polluting factories on the other side of the world? Becoming a B Corp was about embedding ethics and sustainability into every decision; governance, people, supply chains, product, and impact. It keeps us accountable and gives our customers confidence that we are living up to our values,”
– Rob.
In 2008, Rob found himself in a chance conversation with a salon owner who opened his eyes to the challenges of laundering cotton towels. Rob was an outsider to the hair and beauty industry, so the first task was to listen.
From that moment Rob spent 18 months working with local salon owners to develop an alternative: a sustainable, high-performance disposable towel that could outperform cotton while doing away with laundry.Scrummi launched in 2010, and they’ve been pioneering the “laundry-free” movement ever since.
Before Scrummi, Rob spent 10 years working with his family in their disposable textiles business, supplying wipes and cloths for major retailers like your local supermarket. Rob is somewhat of a nepo in the textile industry. He’s a 4th generation textile entrepreneur and is putting those many years of development and knowledge to use with Scrummi.
“What I’ve learnt is that hair and beauty professionals care deeply about the quality of their tools and the service they deliver. A simple switch to Scrummi has a big effect helping them save time, improve hygiene, and reduce their footprint without compromising standards. The passion and resilience of this community has been inspiring, and it’s shaped how we innovate,”
– Rob.
“Laundry is one of the most resource-intensive parts of the beauty industry using vast amounts of water, energy and chemicals. Businesses should solve problems, not add to them. They should always serve people and the planet – not the other way around. Scrummi exists to give professionals a better option. They reduce waste, save resources, and cut environmental impact by up to 90%. “That’s the legacy I want Scrummi to have.”
– Rob

Enki Towels are designed for hair professionals who value hygiene, client comfort, and sustainability.
Published:Suitable for a wide range of applications: from hairdressing to gentle face towels in barbershops, salon washrooms, beauty couches, bed covers for spas, and body covers in cosmetic clinics. They offer an affordable, hygienic alternative to old, tired, reusable cotton towels – without compromising on client comfort.
For Colour Enthusiasts
There’s also a premium option for clients who love their colours. They can be given their own individual towel during their appointment – with the option to take it home afterwards. This not only protects their personal towels from staining due to vibrant or vivid colours, but also adds a thoughtful touch to the overall salon experience.
~ Black option towels are also a great choice for minimising visible stains.
“Enki towels soak up to 7x more water than standard alternatives. This allows salons to use just one towel per client, eliminating the risk of bacteria transfer and enabling a laundry-free, time-saving, cost-effective solution”.
