Each year, the British Hairdressing Business Awards honour the salons and individuals setting new standards in the industry.

On Monday 7 July 2025, the winners of the British Hairdressing Business Awards 2025 were announced at the prestigious Royal Lancaster London, bringing together the UK’s professional hairdressing elite for an evening of celebration and recognition. The event was a true celebration of excellence, innovation and leadership across the sector.

Standout Winner

Among this year’s standout winners was Melissa Timperley, who took home the coveted Educator of the Year award – sponsored by Wella Professionals – for her work with MT MASTERCLASS, the education arm of Melissa Timperley Salons. The award recognises outstanding commitment to developing future talent and delivering industry-leading training.

Melissa salons are multi-award winning having previously won awards for Best Salon Team of the Year, Best Salon In the UK, Afro Hairdresser of the Year and Best Customer Service Award. Their Stylists are highly trained and experienced, and they take a thoughtful approach to every part of their service. Every member of the team are retrained in Melissa’s MT MasterClass techniques to ensure they are specialists in all hair types.

Textured hair should be celebrated and embraced by Hairdressers, not avoided. We aim to inspire other salons to educate
themselves about this hair type to provide more inclusive services. Our goal was to create a collection of images featuring strong silhouettes and powerful forms – images that are fierce yet also soft and beautiful. We drew inspiration from Photographer Johnny

As Hairdressers, we have the gift of making people feel good about their authentic selves, no matter their age, gender, race, or religion. We wanted to capture this gift. Our collection features images where everyone is heard and feels part of a wider story. Inspired by an inclusive A.P.C. campaign and the emotions it evoked with its powerful stories, we aimed to highlight the models’ personalities alongside their beautiful hair.
