The leaves begin to fall, the temperature gradually drops, the nights get darker, and the movies get spookier. Autumn is one of the most transformative seasons for both the weather and your hair.
We all know that hair trends move at lightning speed but as we move towards the colder months, it seems we all have the collective need to stay warm! What better way to stay warm than matching your hair colour with your favourite seasonal drink? Introducing this season’s sweetest shade… ‘Pumpkin Spice Blonde’.
Trending Now
As we move towards the autumnal months, this sweet syrupy hue has been spotted on the likes of Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski. ‘Pumpkin Spice Blonde’ is an intensely glossy, rich auburn shade with vanilla ribbons, delicately infused with flecks of chestnut and auburn blended throughout.

Add Dimenson
The addition of subtle vanilla blonde pieces throughout the hair will add dimension to the look.
Add Warmth
‘Pumpkin Spice Blonde’ is great for those gradually wanting to add warmth to their hair as we move towards the autumnal months without the need for too much maintenance. Natural roots can blend seamlessly with the coppery hues, making it a great transitional shade from summer to autumn.
Skin Tone
This versatile shade is perfect for almost any skin tone and can be customised to the individual’s style and preference, making both cool and warm skin tones pop.
Safy’s Top Tip
For me, freehand balayage is the technique of choice here, so get creative! Lighten your base to a level 9 with Goldwell Oxycur Plantin 9+, then let your creativity flow with your ‘Pumpkin Spice’ global colour, in which I used Goldwell Topchic 7KG + 8KG + 10 drops of Goldwell Pure Pigments Orange!

Bespoke Consultations
When it comes to creating calico hair, it’s all about keeping it soft, patchy in the prettiest way, and customised to each person. I’d start with a good consultation with the client to pick out a dreamy palette, usually soft blondes, warm coppers, muted browns , whatever suits their skin tone and vibe best.
Best For
It suits an array of different skin tones, hair types and face shapes but it’s extra perfect for those with warmer skin tones as the warmer colours harmonise beautifully with this skin tone. It does however also help to brighten the appearance of those with cooler skin tones.
Pattern Sectioning
I would take into account if my client wanted a really soft, seamless blend of colour, or if they were feeling a bit more fancy and wanted something bolder, more like the 90s blocky highlight style that’s making a comeback with this look. It’s all about tailoring the technique to match their vibe!
After Processing
I’d use a toner or gloss to melt everything together, making sure the finish is super seamless but still shows off all the lovely dimensions.
“It’s such a dreamy, playful look, perfect for anyone wanting something creative but still really wearable!” – Safy B.
