From rich reds to textured bobs, Brian Leo McCallum, owner of ROAR Hair & Beauty, shares the colour and cutting trends he expects to see everywhere this autumn/winter.

Sriracha-Inspired Reds

Red hair returns every autumn, but for AW26 it’s taking on a warmer, spicier twist. Brian predicts “Sriracha red” will be one of the season’s standout shades . It’s a fiery red softened with warm brown undertones that flatters a wide range of complexions.

The versatile tone can be woven through brunette hair to create depth, shine and dimension, worn as an all-over colour, or added in bold panels for clients looking to make more of a statement.

Moody Gothic Plums

Deep, luxurious plum shades are also set to make an impact this season, offering brunettes an easy way to refresh their look while maintaining richness and shine.

“These darker violet tones feel both
fashion-forward and wearable.”

“They’re ideal for clients who want to experiment with colour without straying too far from their natural base.”The result is a glossy, sophisticated finish that works equally well for clients seeking bold colour or a more subtle seasonal update.

Airy Bobs

The bob continues its reign for AW26, but this season it’s softer, lighter and full of movement.

Brian predicts a shift towards textured, airy bobs featuring invisible layers, choppy ends and an intentionally lived-in finish. While the look appears effortless, careful layering creates volume, shape and softness without adding weight.

Micro Fringes

Micro fringes, or baby bangs, are another key trend for the coming season.

Cut high above the eyebrows, the look can be tailored to suit different personalities, from sharp and graphic with a blunt finish to softer, textured versions for a more relaxed feel.

Although the style benefits from regular trims, Brian says it also grows out beautifully, with slightly longer, wispy micro fringes creating a softer, more undone finish between appointments.
