Published:The team at Denman is known for creating professional hairbrushes, but recently found themselves taking on a very different role… helping rescue a local hairdresser’s missing cat!
Hairdresser Lauren Dearne, from Bangor, Northern Ireland, became increasingly concerned when her cat Fibo, failed to return home after disappearing one Tuesday morning.
“I noticed little Fibo hadn’t been home since Tuesday morning,” says Lauren.
“After more than 24 hours I started reaching out to local Lost and Found Pets Facebook groups to get the word out.”
A few days later, the Lost and Found Pets North Down and Ards team contacted Lauren with some promising news. Staff at Denman‘s nearby headquarters had spotted Fibo trapped in the site’s drainage system.
Lauren rushed to the offices, where members of the Denman team were waiting to help. Together they managed to rescue Fibo from the drain, with the adventurous feline emerging unharmed, and ready for a well-earned meal.
Lauren, who has worked in hairdressing for 10 years and is based at Jacqui Bothwell Hair in Bangor, says the experience has given her another reason to appreciate the brand.

“I’ve been using Denman since receiving my first college training kit. The Head Huggers are still my secret weapon for the perfect blow-dry, while the Original Styler is my go-to for styling curly and wavy hair. Denman has always had the right brush or comb for every job, with products that really stand the test of time,” says Lauren.
And now, Lauren can also say the brand played a part in rescuing her much-loved cat.
