Published:The annual event saw colleagues gather at Q’s historic North Street headquarters to reflect on the past 12 months, take part in practical education sessions and celebrate the achievements of team members at the company’s annual awards.
Founded by Anthony Barnes-Smith 54 years ago, Q Hair and Beauty has built its reputation around team development, combining traditional hair and beauty skills with modern techniques and industry-recognised training.
Managing director Kain Lawrence and company director Dawn Lawrence opened QFest with a review of the past year. Highlights included a team education trip to Rome with Paul Mitchell, the launch of Beers and Braids classes and a major investment in a new roof for the Chichester salon.
The event also highlighted Q’s continued focus on customer service and creating a positive guest experience.

The business also recognised the contribution of its long-serving team members, with three colleagues reaching 10 years of service during the year. They join a growing number of employees working towards Q’s Hall of Fame, which recognises more than 20 years of service.
Following the business review, team members split into practical focus groups tailored to their roles.
The front-of-house team explored ways to further support guests and introduced ideas around recognising new guests in the building and following up on their experience.
The hair team took part in a hands-on colour session, creating swatches and experimenting with new techniques, while the beauty team focused on nail services and essential oil blending.
The celebrations continued with a dinner at local business Fernleigh, with cocktails, a buffet and time for team members and their loved ones to celebrate the year together.
