JOICO has announced the return of its Color Talent Awards for 2027, inviting hair colourists across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to showcase their creativity, technical expertise and artistic vision.
Following a successful inaugural year that attracted more than 200 entries from across the region, the competition will once again recognise outstanding talent across three categories: Creative Color Award, Artistic Vision Award and In-Salon Transformation.
The awards are designed to celebrate the versatility of professional hair colour, from innovative techniques and avant-garde concepts to real-life salon transformations.
The 2027 competition offers opportunities for professionals with different approaches to hair colour.
Each category will have an overall winner, alongside second- and third-place winners. First-place prizes include cash awards, JOICO Professional product bundles, public relations and social media coverage, and opportunities to make guest appearances at JOICO events.
The first JOICO Color Talent Awards saw entries from across EMEA, with colourists demonstrating their passion for creating distinctive palettes and combining colour with creative cutting and styling.
The overall winner was Monika Woźniak of Hair Colorist Studio in Poland. Her prize included a professional photoshoot with the JOICO European Creative Team, coverage in industry trade press, social media exposure and €2,500 to support her creative ambitions.
Reflecting on her win, Woźniak said the experience changed how she viewed her work, describing it as a passion she wanted to develop every day and the fulfilment of a professional dream.
The 2027 awards will be judged by a panel of experienced industry professionals, including Bruno Marc Giamattei, JOICO EMEA Creative Director; Ashlee Norman, hairstylist, educator and social media influencer; Bona Jörg, JOICO Creative Color Artist EMEA; Monika Woźniak, winner of the 2025 awards; Wendy van der Helm, JOICO EMEA Creative Education Manager; and Svea Pohl, JOICO EMEA Marketing Manager Color.
Giamattei said he was looking forward to seeing stylists experiment with colour combinations and techniques in their entries, building on the creativity demonstrated in the inaugural competition.

Entries for the JOICO Color Talent Awards 2027 opened on 1 October 2026 and will close on 31 March 2027. Judging is scheduled to take place in April 2027, with the winners set to be announced on @joicoeurope Instagram that month.
