Published:The Fellowship for British Hairdressing has partnered with internationally renowned long hair specialist Patrick Cameron to launch a new scholarship designed to develop one of the industry’s most underrepresented yet commercially valuable skillsets.
The Patrick Cameron Long Hair Scholarship aims to support stylists looking to advance their expertise in long hair dressing through a structured programme focused on technical development, creativity and continuous learning.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities on long hair, Patrick Cameron has built a global reputation through his education platform, live education programmes and social media following @patrickcameronhair. The new scholarship reflects a shared commitment between Cameron and the Fellowship to create more opportunities for hairdressers to develop specialist skills and progress their careers.
Unlike traditional competitions that focus on a single finished look, the scholarship has been designed around a documented learning journey. Applicants will be required to complete a series of styling challenges through Patrick’s dedicated education platform, Style Challenge, demonstrating both technical ability and progression over time.

Entrants must complete three designated styles from the Essentials collection; Textured Bouffant, Classic Pleat and Basic Wave, before submitting a further three styles of their choice from either the Red Carpet or Bridal Solutions collections. Each look must be supported by step-by-step photographic documentation, alongside a written account of their approach to long hair dressing and a personal story demonstrating the impact the skill has had on a client.
Applications open on 15 June 2026 and close on 31 January 2027. One overall winner will be selected, alongside up to five runners-up.
The scholarship winner will receive a one-to-one mentoring session with Patrick Cameron in May 2027, access to his Long Hair education platform, a signed copy of his heritage bridal reference book, full Style Challenge certification and a curated collection of professional styling tools and accessories from the Patrick Cameron range.
