Anna Cofone created hair styles to enhance each model’s natural movement, texture and features.
Published:Working with Authentic Beauty Concept, Hair Lead Anna Cofone avoided a single uniform runway style, instead tailoring the hair to each model. Straighter hair was kept clean and minimal, natural movement was left visible, curls were hydrated and defined, while more textured hair was shaped into considered silhouettes without losing its natural character.
The approach reflected the wider collection, which was inspired by Swiss artist François Gross and his exploration of textiles, texture and repetition. The themes of individualism, identity and personality were carried through into the hair direction.
“The starting point for the hair at Roksanda was the individual, Authentic Beauty Concept Global Creative Advocate. “We didn’t want every model to have the same hairstyle or finish; it was about looking at their natural texture, movement, features and face shape and asking how we could elevate what was already there.”
“It’s about celebrating your natural hair rather than trying to make it something else.”
Rather than following a single product routine backstage, Cofone selected products according to each model’s individual hair needs, including hydration, definition, control, shine and lightweight conditioning.
The products used included Authentic Beauty Concept Hydrate Spray Conditioner, Amplify Root-Lift Spray Conditioner, Hand & Hair Light Cream, Indulging Fluid Oil and Glow Spray Serum.
The resulting looks ranged from clean and minimal through to soft, defined curls and structured textured styles.
For straight hair, the focus was on enhancing the hair’s natural fall and maintaining a clean, fresh finish without adding unnecessary texture or volume.
Where hair had natural movement, the styling controlled fly-aways while allowing the texture to remain visible, creating a polished but not overly perfected finish.
For curly hair, hydration and definition were prioritised, with the aim of retaining softness and natural movement rather than creating a rigid finish.
For more textured hair, the team created clean, considered silhouettes while keeping the hair’s natural texture integral to the finished look.

The Roksanda show was also part of Authentic Beauty Concept’s wider support for Anna Cofone’s Hair & Care project and its Making Fashion Accessible initiative across three sponsored SS27 London Fashion Week shows: Harris Reed, Susan Fang and Roksanda.
The initiative provided blind and low-vision guests with access to the shows and backstage, alongside tactile experiences of the collections’ textiles and fabrics with the designers.
The project aims to make Fashion Week more inclusive by enabling guests to experience the creativity and craftsmanship of the collections beyond the visual.
Hair & Care was founded by Cofone to improve accessibility within the hair, beauty and fashion industries for blind and low-vision women and girls. Since 2019, the charity has supported more than 500 participants through free accessible workshops and initiatives focused on tactile learning, practical haircare skills, confidence and self-care.
Its programmes include Accessible Workshops, Making Fashion Accessible at London Fashion Week and The Art of Session Hairstyling.
