Swapping salon floors for the tennis court at the Hair & Beauty Charity Tennis Tournament.
Published:The hair and beauty industry united for a day of sport, networking and fundraising in support of industry members facing hardship.
Held at Weybridge Riverside Lawn Tennis Club and organised by Hair & Beauty Charity committee member Philip Sharp, the event brought together salon professionals, brands and supporters for a mix of competitive matches and light-hearted doubles games, all raising money for the Charity’s ongoing support work.
Players of all abilities took part, from experienced tennis enthusiasts to first-time competitors, creating an energetic and inclusive atmosphere throughout the day. Alongside the on-court action, guests enjoyed lunch provided by Salon Vision, while Champagne prizes donated by LEAF Scissors and Tom Gold Hair added to the celebrations.
The event raised £500 for the Hair & Beauty Charity, with Jonty Olivier crowned winner for the Maypoles team and Mary Beasley taking the title for the Mayflowers.
“When our industry comes together, whether that’s through a game of tennis, a golf day or even a salon bake sale, we can make a real difference. The funds raised today will help support individuals across our sector who are struggling, and I’m hugely grateful to everyone who took part,”
– Jayne Lewis-Orr, Hair & Beauty Charity President.
The tournament is the latest example of the industry rallying together to support the Hair & Beauty Charity’s work, which provides financial assistance and practical help to hair and beauty professionals during difficult times.
