Published:The hair direction for John Richmond SS27 reflected the collection’s contrast between control and rawness, combining a sculpted silhouette with deliberately undone detailing.
Individual texture and movement were retained throughout the look, while a striking black, feather-like element was incorporated into the hair. The graphic detail was designed to cut through the sculpted shape, creating what the team described as an electric interruption.
The result was a style that combined structure with a deliberately less contained finish, translating the tension within Richmond’s collection into the hair.
For Spring/Summer 2027, John Richmond explored the relationship between light and darkness, structure and softness, and control and instinct.
Inspired by White Light, White Heat, the collection featured sculpted silhouettes, architectural lines, transparency and contrast, with references to music, electricity and memory.
The hair mirrored these themes through its combination of precision and disruption, with the clean silhouette providing structure while the retained texture, movement and graphic feather-like detail introduced a more instinctive element.
The hero product for the look was label.m Fashion Edition Ultimate Hairspray, used to support the sculpted finish.
