Whether working on location, styling for an event or simply taking the salon on the move, a well-packed kit bag can make all the difference. While it can be tempting to pack every tool and product available, Thaddeus recommends focusing on versatile essentials that can handle a range of styling scenarios.

Brushes and Combs

Thaddeus says her brush selection changes depending on the job and her current favourites, but there are several staples she always keeps in her kit.

• YS Park Extra Long Pin Tail Comb – The extra-long tail allows for clean, precise sectioning, making it particularly useful before cutting and colouring.
• Primp Boar Bristle Brush – Thaddeus’ go-to for up-dos and styling, helping to create a sleek, smooth finish.

Electrical Tools

When it comes to electrical equipment, Thaddeus adapts her kit according to the job. However, one constant is the ghd Air Hair Dryer, which she says helps her dry and style hair quickly, making it particularly useful when working on location.

She also carries wireless Wella clippers for seamless clipper work.

Alongside electrical tools, Thaddeus recommends carrying heat-protectant mats to provide a safe surface for hot tools and help prevent damage to the styling station.

Her final must-have is a hairnet, which she describes as her “trusty secret weapon” for keeping styles polished and ensuring unwanted fly-aways stay securely in place.
