Designed to help control excess oil at the scalp, hydrate the hair and extend the time between washes.
Published:Bumble and bumble’s Seaweed Oil Control Styling Primer was developed to create a foundation for longer-lasting styles. The new primer combines targeted oil control with lightweight hydration and softening, without weighing the hair down.
The formula is infused with nutrient-rich seaweeds and offers several benefits, including detangling, scalp care and preparation for styling. According to the brand, the product provides up to 48 hours of oil control, based on clinical testing involving 29 panelists after one week of use.
The formula combines Royal Sugar Kelp and Zinc PCA to help control excess oil at the roots. A proprietary Lactobacillus Ferment helps support a balanced scalp microbiome, while alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) help smooth the hair cuticle and enhance shine.
Designed for straight, wavy and curly hair, the primer is formulated for fine to medium hair diameters and is particularly suited to clients with oil-prone scalps and hair.
The brand describes the product as a form of skincare for the scalp, addressing oil production while providing hydration where needed.

Seaweed Oil Control Styling Primer should be applied to damp hair after washing and gently towel-drying.
Using the targeted spray applicator, lift the hair in sections and direct the mist towards the scalp from a few inches away. Work the product through the hair before styling as desired.
The primer is designed to help keep styles looking fresher for longer, offering an additional preparation step for clients looking to manage oil at the roots without compromising lightweight styling.
