Published:“Old Hollywood glamour took over the BAFTAs red carpet as the stars tapped into its glamourous and luxurious appeal. Vanessa Kirkby channelled this with her Hollywood waves, which were beautifully paired with a blonde hue that will be everywhere in 2025 – Old Money Blonde, a subtly creamy, expensive-looking blonde. The elegance of the hairstyle lies in their polished yet delicate style, being a perfect option for those who are seeking that timelessly classic appeal. Vanessa was the epitome of sophistication – absolutely beautiful!”

“Pamela Anderson looked absolutely breath-taking on the BAFTAs red carpet – a real-life angel! She elevated her long golden locks with wispy curtain bangs, which beautifully frame and soften her rectangle face shape. The bangs add texture and dimension to the hair, so I’d recommend a large round brush when blow-drying the hair to achieve that fluffy, dramatic effect. For me, they harmonised the overall look, adding the finishing touch – delicate and super feminine.”
– Jay Birmingham, Celebrity Session Stylist – Pamela Anderson.

“Slick back buns are everywhere right now, especially on the BAFTAs red carpet – Saoirse Ronan’s snatched bun was the standout for me, she made it look so effortlessly chic! That bold red lip popped when partnered with her slick back bun – so simple yet so effective. The slick back bun accentuates Saoirse’s oval shaped face, whilst highlighting her beautiful bone structure. For this look, there is no room for any pesky flyaways, so plenty of hairspray is required to smooth down and scrap back the hair,”

“I loved Gwendoline Christie’s gothic braids at the BAFTAs – very on trend this year! Especially as we move into the warmer months, I think that hair accessories. like bows, rings and clips will be making a massive comeback! For Gwendoline’s vampy red-carpet look, she wore her hair in long platinum blonde braids adorned with black bows. Hair accessories can completely elevate what would be quite a simple look and they add a bit of fun. Mark my words, hair accessories are coming back into fashion!”

“Hannah Dodd’s sculpted bun was a true work of art, while the slicked-back front created a polished, minimalist frame; the back was where the magic really happened! It featured an intricate sculptural design with woven and twisted details, almost like delicate ribbons which melted into the most beautifully structured bun. It was a fresh, modern take on a classic updo; it was structured yet soft with a modern edge. The glossy finish enhanced the dimensional effect, making it a standout look from every angle. This was a style that perfectly balanced timelessness with an effortless, fashion-forward edge – perfect for a high-profile event such as the Baftas,”
– Suzie McGill, Rainbow Room International Artistic Director – Hannnah Dodds.

“India Amarteifio’s updo created an almost crown-like effect at the BAFTAs. It was a striking choice that complemented her textured hair beautifully. It worked in harmony with the natural volume and structure of her hair. The combination of the textured finish of the updo and the bangs worked perfectly, offering both movement and structure. This style brought attention to her features while still feeling fresh and untamed, showcasing the beauty of natural texture in a sophisticated, high-fashion way.
This look is a great example of how textured hair can be styled into something chic and red-carpet worthy without compromising its natural volume and form. It also suggests a shift toward more relaxed yet polished styles on the red carpet, where volume and texture can stand out as a statement of their own,”
Chris Grimley, Textured Hair Specialist, Owner of Fusion Hair Co & Textured Curl Academy – India Amarteifios.

“Selena Gomez’s polished chignon at the 2025 BAFTAs was giving real Old Hollywood glamour vibes! The side-parted updo featured perfectly placed strands, with the hair smoothly styled and tucked in a way that created a refined, structured silhouette. This look was all about precision, which made it feel particularly regal and polished. The chignon, combined with the side parting, framed Selena’s face beautifully, giving her a sophisticated look reminiscent of classic movie stars from the Golden era of Hollywood,”
– Brian ‘Leo’ McCallum, Owner of ROAR Hair & Beauty – Selena Gomez.

“Meghann Fahy’s half-up ponytail at the 2025 BAFTAs was a sleek, sultry look that was perfect for the red carpet. The style featured a smooth, swept-back top section that was expertly pulled into a clean, high ponytail, giving her a chic, controlled silhouette. Unlike more voluminous or textured ponytails, this version kept the lines neat and sharp.
The high ponytail added structure, and the lower section of her hair cascaded naturally, with soft waves that added a touch of glamour and movement without overwhelming the look,”
– Paul Watts, Joico EMEA Colour Team Artist and Ambassador – Meghann Fahys.
