Creating a dedicated training hub for aspiring hairdressers and barbers across Yorkshire.
Published:The new Kleek Academy Leeds, located at 161 Briggate, officially opened on 5 October 2026. Housed in the former Westrow House Academy, the new centre is designed to support the next generation of hair and beauty professionals, with capacity for up to 150 learners.
The opening marks the latest stage in Kleek Apprenticeships’ expansion and strengthens its presence in the North. The organisation has more than 26 years’ experience delivering apprenticeship training and has trained more than 9,000 apprentices with the support of its educators and employer salons across England.

Kleek Academy Leeds is the seventh academy in the group’s network, joining locations in Colchester, Darlington, London, Maidstone, Newcastle upon Tyne and Stockton-on-Tees.
The training provider currently supports more than 1,000 learners and over 750 salons and spas each year through its apprenticeship programmes.
Managing Director Tina Ockerby said the new academy represents an important addition to the company’s offering and its growing presence across the North.
“Kleek Apprenticeships is delighted to add Kleek Academy Leeds to our offering. We can’t wait to train the next generation of hairdressers and barbers in this amazing space,” – Tina.
Laura Tosney, Academy Manager at Kleek Academy Leeds, added that the new centre would provide apprentices with a strong foundation for their careers. “We are incredibly excited to open the doors of Kleek Academy Leeds and offer the very best hairdressing training in the city,” she said.

The academy is accepting enrolments throughout the year, with Yorkshire salon owners able to enrol new apprentices or transfer existing apprentices to Kleek’s programmes.
Kleek Apprenticeships says its training is recognised as outstanding by Ofsted and offers Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications across hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy. The organisation works with salons of all sizes, as well as established industry names including Jo Hansford, Larry King, Errol Douglas, HOB Salons, Saks Hair & Beauty and Vidal Sassoon salon groups.
With the opening of the Leeds academy, Kleek is positioning itself to provide greater access to apprenticeship training for salons and aspiring professionals across Yorkshire, while continuing its wider expansion across England.
