Healthy-looking hair, wearable colour and softer, more personalised cuts emerging as key themes.
Published:Members of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s F.A.M.E. Team 2026 have shared their predictions for the key hair trends set to shape this season.
Across the predictions, the focus is shifting away from highly styled or high-maintenance looks towards glossy, healthy hair, dimensional colour and cuts that work with the individual client.
Samantha Bryne predicts a season centred around healthy shine, soft movement and timeless elegance. Polished bobs, long layered cuts and face-framing fringes are expected to feature prominently, while styling will feel effortless rather than overly done.
In colour, Bryne highlights espresso brunettes, warm coppers, creamy blondes and multidimensional shades designed to enhance natural depth. High-shine finishes will remain important, with condition taking priority over dramatic colour transformations.
On the catwalk, sleek low ponytails, sculptural buns and soft waves are also expected to continue, reflecting what Bryne describes as a more understated approach to luxury.
Chelsey Stone expects dimensional luxury brunettes and personalised grey blending to continue their rise this autumn.
According to Stone, clients are increasingly moving away from high-maintenance colour appointments in favour of bespoke shades that grow out naturally while maintaining a polished, premium finish.
She also predicts that scalp health and wellness-focused services will become an increasingly important part of the salon experience, rather than being viewed simply as an additional luxury service.
The bob is also set for another evolution, with Olivia-Rose Brady predicting a move towards more romantic and wearable shapes.
Rather than the sharp, blunt 0-line bob, Brady expects to see styles with natural movement and invisible layers, combined with the face-framing details that have remained popular.
Her autumn vision takes inspiration from 90s romantic comedy heroines alongside the elegance of Renaissance beauty.
Troy Boyd is also predicting a move towards effortlessly luxurious hair, with rich, wearable colour and soft shapes replacing overly styled looks.
For brunettes, espresso, mocha and truffle shades are expected to create subtle dimension, while copper will take a more refined direction through cinnamon, burnished copper and amber-brown tones.
Blondes are predicted to move towards pearly hues rather than platinum, with honey and biscuit tones offering softer, warmer alternatives. Boyd also highlights mushroom blonde as an option for creating dimension and supporting softer grey blending.
For cuts, airy layers, 90s blowouts and the possible return of the soft side fringe are on the agenda, while bobs are expected to become softer and more refined, with jaw-skimming lengths and moveable layers.
Overall, the F.A.M.E. Team’s predictions point towards a season where healthy condition, subtle dimension and personalisation take centre stage – with clients looking for hair that looks luxurious but remains wearable and grows out beautifully.
